Women veterans’ organizations have filed an amicus brief supporting a First Circuit appeal against the male-only Selective Service system. The case was brought by Jacqueline Fenore, whose March 2025 attempt to register was rejected solely because she is a woman, and Equal Means Equal, an organization campaigning against sex discrimination. The plaintiffs stress that they are not advocating conscription but are using the exclusion of women to pursue equal constitutional treatment.
