A Finnish court has convicted a male conscript corporal of a service offence after he repeatedly entered female recruits’ quarters at the Pori Brigade in Niinisalo without any official reason. The court found that his purpose was to sexually harass the women, particularly one recruit, whom he also subjected to unwanted advances and inappropriate treatment.
The incidents occurred in January 2026. The corporal, who was 19 at the time, received 30 day-fines totalling more than €1,100.

The women accommodated there found his conduct disruptive and, at least in part, distressing. According to the district court, his clear intention was to sexually harass the female recruits, particularly one of them.
